I hope that you all enjoy this weeks free pattern for these super cute heart teething rings. a really quick and beginner friendly little crochet project for you here that is great to gift to people you know who are expecting or have a new edition to their family but they are also great to sell at craft fairs and places like Etsy. They look great on their own or as part as a set (it would go lovely with last weeks free pattern for the pacifier clip). Materials:
2.5mm Crochet Hook
Scissors
Darning Needle
5.5cm Wooden Ring
Scheepjes Catona (Mercerized Cotton) I have used colours 409 (Pink) and 510 (Blue)
Toy Stuffing

Special Stitches:
Crab Stitch: Insert your hook into the next st on the right, pull up a loop, yarn over and pull through both loops on your hook, move into next stitch on the right and repeat ( It is also known as a reverse DC as it is a DC stitch but worked from left to right, instead of the usual direction of right to left)

This Pattern is written using UK terminology: UK Double Crochet (DC) = US single crochet (SC)

OKAY TIME TO GRAB YOU HOOK AND YARN AND LETS GET GOING :))))))
CH 6
Row 1 – 1dc in the 2nd ch from the hook, 1 dc into the next 4 sts, ch1 and turn
Row 2 – dc increase into the 1st st, 1 dc into the next 3 sts, dc increase into the last st, ch1 and turn
Row 3 – dc increase into the first st, 1dc into the next 5 sts, dc increase into the last st, ch1 and turn
Row 4 – dc increase into the first st, 1dc into the next 7 sts, dc increase into the last st, ch1 and turn
Row 5 – 1dc into the 1st st and the next 9 sts, 1dc increase into the last st, ch1 and turn
Row 6 – dc increase into the 1st st, 1dc into the next 11 sts, ch1 and turn
Row 7 – 1dc decrease, 1dc into the next 10 sts, idc increase into the last st, ch1 and turn
Row 8 – dc increase into the 1st st, 1dc into the next 10 sts, 1dc decrease, ch1 and turn

Row 19 – 1dc decrease, 1dc into the next 3 sts, 1dc decrease, ch1 and fasten work off (leave a tail of around 6 inches to tie in and secure) you will need to make two of these hearts do not ch1 and and fasten off your second heart you will do the following:
place both hearts together with the right sides facing outward and the wrong sides facing inwards.
dc evenly all the way around the two hearts joing the together but before you close the hearts completely remeber to fill with the toy stuffing, sl st to the first dc to join the round.
place once crab st in each of the dc around (please see video for instructions to join to the wooden ring) sl st to close round ch 1 and tie off work and weave in the loose end.
